Racing oil is as stated for RACING!!!, it is meant to be changed after EVERY race it is NOT suitable for everday use
True but he cited race car stats
Plenty of regular 0w8 makers out there too

Personally I would just use 0w-20, but if you wanna be bleeding edge and use 0w-8, then knock yourself out. Given the amount of driving you do in the SF area, I doubt the differences would be massive between oil choices.

Mobil? Shell? Valvoline? Chevron?
Motul, RP, Anax and a bunch more are gearing up like Empire etc.

Mobil possibly but not sure if they are supplying Toyota or not as Toyotas oil formulator was Chevrons prior.
I' m no. 0w8 authority however.

-- Lighter loads now ~100# or less.
--Deadlines are becoming less time critical.
--Using basic hypermiling techniques.
--RPMs almost always 1500 to 2800.
--Hybrids designed to run on thinner motor oils.
--See YarisCross Hybrid/Spec'd for 0W8.
--YMMV.

Championship race teams are now qualifying on highest quality 0W8 motor oil.
They then find it unnecessary to rebuild engines prior to race day.
The bearings are unscathed.
Fly Erica Fly..
I'd try a 0-w16 first...... I try to just maim myself a little at a time.
