I like to visit the various store and shop.

I like to ride those Walmart handicap carts around.

Some people like to sit at home.

Whatever floats your boat.

I haven't but I'll wager a guess it's a dead ringer for Trop Artic (which is a very good oil).

There is an older thread on here someplace stating it is a great lube. (76 syn blend). I have never used it though.

That's what I was thinking thanks KC. After I burn through my stash Im probably going to have to hit that up. Not a bad price considering I don't have to go anywhere to get it. I liked the Kendall syn-blend in my truck when my brother worked at Firestone.

Looked it up Cooper. There is quite a few actually. Thanks

The Kendall is cheaper. Kendall comes in 12 quart cases and M1 comes in 6 quart cases.

Ah, I didn't notice that. Then for me Mobil 1 0w20 at Walmart is way cheaper than this site.

I am routinely in town anyway, so if i know im going to change my oil within a few weeks i stop at Walmart and get some while im out. Oftentimes a Walmart, or other grocerie store trip is the reason im out. it really cost me no extra hassle to get my oil locally.

Because I use cash for things a few hundred or less.
And I usually browse a little for the misc. things, nice to have things, sale/clearance/specials.

I buy stuff at Amazon with free shipping to Hawaii. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them. But, I buy at Walmart now cause the Mobil 1 0W40 I'm into now is cheaper there.

Sales. And if you don't live in the middle of nowhere, store shelves are usually stocked with a wide selection. I mainly stick to the mainstream brands (i.e. Mobil, Pennzoil, Valvoline, Quaker State, and Castrol) so brands that are difficult to find do not matter.

And gas wouldn't matter if you're either going to the store or driving by anyways. With what you're suggesting, shipping would be added cost for me.

Read my rant here. It's getting worse, at least in Regina. Walmart is doing the Canadian Tire thing of having almost no stock for an advertised sale. After all, why sell product at little markup (or perhaps a loss) when you can sucker people into coming in all the same and finding no stock, all the while you can sell them the same product next week at over 100% markup? And they know darned well that the vast majority of people won't ask the clueless guy on the floor, much less wait in line half an hour at "Customer Service," only to have them verify that it's out of stock.

Partsource ran out of Pennzoil conventional over two weeks ago on their month long Pennzoil conventional sale. At least NAPA is a little easier to deal with in that regard, since the good stuff is always in the back, or can be brought in. But, yes, their sales are a bit sporadic. They'll have a sale each month for two or three in a row, then they've got nothing for a while.

As for Pennzoil Ultra jugs, they might make you buy a box of 4 jugs. At least the last time I bought boxes of SOPennzoil UltraS jugs, they were boxes of 4, and some distributors only sell by the case/box/pail/drum, depending upon the product. Wakefield does 4 jugs, I'm pretty sure. Valvoline stuff might come in boxes of 3, but I'm not positive. Imperial oil provides jugs in boxes of four as well. I have no idea what Husky does with Chevron stuff out this way, though. Out east, I think there are actual Chevron distributors.

Ahhhh the joy of free markets! Capitalism at its best. Do what makes you happy buddy! Cost difference in this instance is negligible.

Agreed.
This is just another arrow in the oil buyer's quiver.
Like Cooper, I've used PSC in the past, but oil is where you find it.
I've bought AMSOIL Signature Series from a CL listing, I've bought oil from fellow BITOGers and I've bought countless quarts from various retailers.
If the price to value ratio makes sense for what you're buying, there is no reason not to order oil for delivery to your door.
This also allows you to avoid the unpleasant experience of shopping at Walmart just to get a decent price.

I'll buy my oil online any day every day just to avoid going into Walmart to purchase oil.

It's bad enough that Walmart has the cheapest prices for Havoline oil & filter.

I only buy oil when it is on sale. That dictates what oil I use. Same with filters and really all lubricants. There is really little effect on your car as long as you change the oil on the recommended intervals.
