Why are TRD oil filters so expensive?

I noticed the OEM Toyota oil filter for my 2009 Scion xD cost roughly 3.99 online while the TRD oil filter cost 13.99. Besides the three letters does anyone know why this filter cost so much more then the regular Toyota oil filter?

It's a nicely made filter. Someone cut one open a while ago and the consensus was very positive.
However, for your car, the difference between the OEM filter and the TRD filter will be a non-factor in terms of overall engine wear throughout the life of that vehicle.

Totally agree with Louisville, Save your money, a lot of the TRD is hyped, it's a good filter but the $4 one will be more than enough.
