Why are there some weed trimmers did not come with an air filter?

Just asking why? Several weeks ago my neighbor bought a new weed trimmer and it did not have an air filter with it. Company cost cutting perhaps?

Was it chained out in front of a Home Depot? I know someone whose lawnmower came with a filter box, but no filter, because someone pinched it.

It most likely came with a squarish foam air filter which doesn't amount to much, but is better than nothing. Your neighbor might not know what he was looking at if equipped with such a filter.

The next time I see him, I'll tell to look inside package box.
If not, I'll make him one. It's easy, get a scrub sponge like this very cheap. The yellow foam portion is what I used. About a dollar & some change for 5 scrubs

If I need to make foam filters for ope I buy a cheap dirtbike filter and cut them out of that.
