Comfy ride, will out-handle any of these minivans or suvs and their 19" rims, and runs cheap sized 195 tires. This will easily save me hundreds in tire replacements costs over the lifetime of the vehicle. Less chance of wheel and tire damage also.

It will be a few years yet I think. Lots of smaller cars everywhere else in the world come with 15's still. Even 2015 the Civic/Corolla had 15's available. Yokohama especially seems to keep producing smaller performance tire sizes.
As long as people buy the tires, companies will keep making them. Eventually, you start to get stripped down to only the most common 15" sizes being available in good tires, but as long as there's enough out there, they won't just disappear.
