Two brothers from India had been in the United States for about ten years. They had worked hard and made a decent living and had developed a great love for the opportunities that this nation had provided. They did, however, argue as to which one was more “American” than the other. They decided to bring their dispute to a friend who would be an impartial arbiter.
The first brother, Apu, told the friend that he was much more American than his brother Babu. He said, “I watch all the basketball, football and baseball games. I have an American Flag hanging by my front door. I know the name of each and every President of the United States as well as each member of the current cabinet. I can sing every song that was in the James Cagney movie “YANKEE DOODLE DANDY”. I am truly more American than my brother Babu.
The friend then asked Babu what made him more American than Apu. He pointed at Apu then defiantly asked his friend, “What, are you kidding me? More American than this "Dothead?
