Who will be the last to keep their logo

It seems to be the current trend in the auto industry to have the name spelled out of the company on the rear of vehicles these days. It looks like Mazda and Subaru just added cars without the logo for the first time. Does it give the car more prestige to not have the typical logo on the rear? I think Ford will be the last to keep their logo badge on their vehicles.

Some logos have historical cachet. Some have panasche. The rest get by with just a computer designed dash.

BMW is another that comes to mind. For both symbolic and practical reasons.

Unless their designers or marketers go completely mad (which can't be ruled out), Roundels with the blue and white representing Bavaria will always have a place on their vehicles. For corporate purposes, they've altered the logo over the years, but that has not been carried over to the vehicles, except for a show car or two.

(numerology trivia -- this is my #2002 post)

Porsche's crest is so central to the company, they'll give you the privilege of paying them even more money if your desire is to have full-colored versions applied to certain areas of their cars. LOL.

But in terms of the latest trend of spelling out brand names instead of logos (i.e. - Lexus, Honda), Porsche doesn't qualify, since that's something they've long practiced.

Mercedes has also been more liberal in the use of applying long names, not just the iconic three-pointed star. They love the star so much, they've gone Lamborghini and made it a saturated design theme.

Some brands have the desire, or need to reinvent themselves, or just be trendy.

Some don't.

The way KIA uses their name is dumb... KI/\
Looks to much like K with a backwards N. I know it won't be that company.
Who will make it through the EV evolution? Americans, Japanese, European, Swede's I mean Chinese. 🫢

There are logos on some vehicle brands that I’ve never liked.
Some of those vehicles are not sold on our shores and only sold in other markets.
I do however like badging on vehicles, front & rear. Even some badges on the side/front fenders. e.g. 5.0
I’m not the biggest fan of black edition badges nor black wheels but, I have seen a few that weren’t too bad.

I think Ford will be the last to keep their logo badge on their vehicles.
Ford went through a period where they used the logo only very sparingly, if at all, on their vehicles. In the 1970s, I am thinking.... Granada, Fairmont etc. Even Chevy had some vehicles with minimal logos; my Nova for example didn't have any logos expect possibly on the steering wheel if I remember right.

That is a common trend with trucks these days, they did it back in the 70 and 80’s also. Even the Honda Ridgeline and Hyundai Santa Fe has it stamped in the tailgate.
