I wear a suit a minimum of 3 times per week. I have a decent selection of them at home, and just ordered another from Express, since they have a sale going online. Their suits are moderately priced, slim-fitting, and fit me just right so that I don't have to get them tailored. I don't buy suits too often, but I'm always looking for places that sell a moderately-priced fitted suit. For those of you who wear suits, where do you buy them?

FWIW my BIL has suits from Banana Republic and Club Monaco, and they seem to be quite nice, although slightly more pricey than Express.

Men's Warehouse.....you're gonna like the way you look...I guarantee it.

Try some of the outlets. The Nautical outlet near us has suit separates that help avoid tailoring. I get 46r jackets and 34w pants. Most places have a 38w pant with that jacket and they never fit quite right after tailoring. Good prices as well, though sometimes you can beat them on promotions elsewhere.

I wore a suit 5 days a week for over 20 years. I almost didn't feel dressed if I wasn't wearing a tie. Life evolved around trips to the dry cleaners and how many clean shirts were available (was ALWAYS buying new shirts). I don't have to wear suits anymore...dockers and a polo/sweater are fine for my present job. I still have 5 suits and 3 sport coats in the closet...and none of them fit anymore (except for the dark grey "marry 'em/bury 'em" model I had altered). Near as I can figure they must've shrunk from lack of use.

I go to Dillards and buy only when they have their big sales in January and July with 50% off. I then wait until the final markdown on those suits (usually the last weekend of the month (varies by sale--additional 10-40% off) and buy then.

Joseph A Banks, awsome suits/sportcoats, can ususally get a sale price. I got one of their $1000.00 suits for $250, there is no comparison to dept store suits....so much better.

I used to go to syms, until they went out of business. Pierre Cardin athletic cut was best for me, the PC suits had the best materials to give good look and life.

Im 36 waist but 48L jacket, so separates work best for me. I usually use the good sales at Macy's to get ralph Lauren, as they work well.

JCP suits never lasted for me, though I do like their stafford athletic cut shirts. Jo A Bank always seemed gimmicky and the cut of their clothes more suited for obese folks.

I have a few Jones NY suits currently that I like.

if you have the dough, go to J Press. They cut a nice suit.

Macy's typically, they usually have something that looks decent and have frequent sales. Brooks Brothers. I also like Express and Banana Republic shirts and suits because their cuts work for me w/ minimal tailoring. Apparently I have an 'athletic' shape that doesn't lend itself to many off the shelf suits, though I am far from athletic. I guess being over 6 feet with big shoulders and a 35 inch waist makes my shape 'athletic' compared to the more typical 'rounder' business people.

Express sometimes seems a little too 'young' for me and the material doesn't seem to last super long, where Banana republic is just about right. Brooks brothers is great quality, but sometimes a little too mature.

I don't have any high end suits. I would like to get one just to have, but I am not interested in spending the money.

Check out Bluefly.
I have a couple of Brioni and Hickey Freeman suits and sportcoats from Brioni that i bought a few years ago.
The Hickey Freeman is a great suit at rock bottom prices.

The Hickey freeman is one of the lowest priced suits i found with a non bonded interface AKA full canvas construction (bonded is a give away of a cheap suit).

Grab the inside liner and try to grab the outside material though it if you don't feel a loose layer of material between them it has a bonded interface and is cheap.
The difference.
A loose stitched in interface suite travels well without wrinkles and will never pucker, it will last a very long time.
It is also what gives the suit that high end appearance.

Bonded interface will after frequent cleaning's loosen the glue in areas and "pucker", they also wrinkle when taken out of a suitcase.

A good friend of mine sells Brioni (thank god) and his dad was the main Brioni distributor in Europe until he retired in 2006, he provided this info.

How many cigarettes a day do you think that guy smokes???

K+G in Chicagoland is having 3 suits for $199.00 right now.

I may go pick some out. I am an infrequent user, but funerals, weddings, and nights out DO occur.
