I have to admit I have gotten lazy and less concerned about how my vehicle looks. I probably went 6-8 months without washing or waxing it
I decided to try a new auto wash in town. For $20.00 you get the ultimate wash. When I paid for it they gave me a free month of unlimited ultimate washes. The monthly cost of this on a membership is 40.00 for unlimited washes.
I loved the free washes and got my car washed a lot. It did a really nice job. However I just don't want to pay that per month. I would think for those that really like keeping their cars nice looking it would be a good deal.

Anyway, do you or would you get a wash membership?

We have "Auto Bell" here in Indian Land, SC (Charlotte suburb.) My wife is always washing her car, so she has the unlimited pass thing also. I think she pays $29/month. She washes her car 2-3 times a week, especially during Spring/Pollen.

For me, I just go through the gas station washer a couple times a month and vacuum it out afterwards. Good enough for me.

Crew, amirite? It’s a good value if you live within a couple miles of the wash, because it includes unlimited vacuum as well. Even just one wash a week brings the cost inline with crappy gas station washes.

I’ve got one and it makes much more sense in the winter. The lowest tier is only $20/mo but doesn’t include the fancy wax or undercarriage wash, which is kinda necessary where winter roads are salted IMO.

Have an Auto Bell here in town. Does a pretty good job. When I drove the felon taxi, I used an independent wash that was REALLY good. Excellent cleaning, proper chemical metering, especially with the "ceramic" top wax, and tire shine was NOT shiny, but a proper rich matte finish. Towels were always clean and plentiful. Vacuums on both sides of the stall. Membership for Ultimate wash (top package) was $25/month for uniformed fleet vehicles with unlimited passes and $35/month for civilian vehicles. Great for a black vehicle during pollen season or after rains.

Personal cars still get the hand wash.

As much as it's good to keep your vehicle clean washing it very often isn't good either. Alot of the commercial car wash chemicals are very toxic and caustic. Second, $40 is nuts for unlimited. There are a couple of places near me that charge a single wash price of $12,$14,16 low through high with $20 on unlimited washes.

Wash N fill in good old Defiance Ohio. As far as tunnel washes go, they’re way less abrasive than others. 3 cars is around $100 per month and they have free vacs for the general public.

I end up buying the booklets at our local Holiday gas stations when they go on sale. Usually $26 for 4 of the higher tier wash. The vouchers are good at any station and don't expire so i feel no rush to use them.

I know if I had a membership id pressure myself to go and feel anxious about not doing it.

I have a car wash membership for my Civic, the car wash is a soft cloth tunnel wash and it does a great job. I know that it’s added some swirls to the paint but from ten feet away it looks perfect and it’s just a base model Civic for crying out loud 😆 It’s bright red and I just enjoy having it clean all the time, especially in the winter (I hate having salt all over the paint for too long). The wash is just a couple of miles away from my place so it’s very convenient and it only costs me $25 CDN per month ($18 US)

I'm debating. There's a newer place near Mom's that has monthly memberships which, if I take the car in more than twice a month, I come out ahead. There are two things holding me back:

1) The Sonata is my daily driver and it's outside 24x7 -- so Ma Nature does her thing for me. I just wish she did a better job on the bird poop.
2) The place offers a deal on Wednesday where the Gold wash is $5 during the day - which is cheaper than the Silver wash by $3. When I get to the point that I can't stand how the car looks, I'll stop by after work on Wednesday.

And I have to add, this is the only carwash that doesn't mangle the front plate on my Sonata. At least so far it hasn't.

I got on board with a promo deal that would default you off if you did not keep using it for the 1 month. I used it twice, this very expensive long car was one of the lowest price auto washes in the area. So I thought looks good, I will see if I can come out ahead at I think $$26-$28 a month. I stopped using it when I went through what seamed like 8 sets of huge 2,000 rpm brushes wearing my clear coat off. I was wondering what my car's sheet metal temperature was after the car wash. The second time I just wanted to get my money out of it and that second time I knew I would very very little,if not ever use this place. MORE, is better with this place. "More Wear Car Wash" is what I can the place. It is popular for sure, but it's not for me.

The local carwash posts a coupon which brings the cost to $5.00 for exterior which is ok with me. I vacuum and clean windows when I get home. I only take the Q5 there. I hand wash my Porsches. $20.00- $40.00 is too much $ for me but then I am cheap ;). I do the math of 240-480 a year .

Not a single car wash in my town is touchless or allows multiple cars with the same membership.

I’m not paying $30+ per month, per car, to swirl my paint. I’d rather they just be dirty.
It's color dependent. My wife's Silver Grey Highlander goes through the car wash ( cloth type spinners-not brushes) all the time. If there are swirl marks you can't see them. My Black Silverado only goes through touchless because black shows everything-including swirl marks. No going to argue if automated washes cause swirl marks-but will say certain colors simply are very forgiving about them. Where many of us live-in the winter you have two choices-let your car start to rust of automated car washes.
The choice is easy for me.

Thank you for reminding me to cancel my membership!

I have a local carwash member ship that I signed up for this year. My truck doesn't have great paint, but its OK and I'd like to keep it shiny and rust at bay as best I can. Its a contact wash, and the last time I went through, the top brush got caught, knocked my truck off the track and broke my grill. That was in January. They have been jerking me around since then.

That is a lot of work for that price. I wash a couple on most days. I even have some of a routine when its muddy, IU simply pull over and rinse when coming in.

I actually train people to run the machine. Those spray pics are only demo but everyone does it and looks like a zebra or leopard. I am really disciplined like spray painting and can general wash in about 4 minutes and 5 if its griney and 10 or more depending on conditions and intent such as heavy ice removal, cleaning ahead of work and can get car dry in a couple hrs if I got to and overnight easy.
I dont bring the grime in. I am not sterile clean but try to eliminate as much as I can up front. I hate working on wet dirty stuff.

The Tesla and Lex RX are under membership to the car warsh around the corner. Silicon Valley is often on water restriction as we are geographically high desert.

I use ONR for everything else.
