Who has their winter tires on already?

I usually do around thanksgiving, but usually trying to go as long as possible on the all seasons. Less noise etc. But now have a garage and can pop on the night before, plus i am still WFH, and the kids don’t go to school if the weather is threatening (you’d think a Nh school wouldn’t be concerned about it, but they now cancel for about any reason).

Wife doesn’t want snows either, she seems to think she is ok on this set of all seasons. We’ll see if she still thinks the same later. I’m still looking for a cheap set of rims all the same.
We did the first couple months of winter on all-seasons when the Outback was new and it wasn't terrible. I was actually kind of surprised that the new X-ice2's we put on later, didn't feel that much better. The factory all-season have a very narrow contact patch for the size and they have nearly the same land to sea ratio, so performance in the deep stuff wasn't much improved with the x-ice2's.

cheep steel rims to take the brunt of salt damage - priceless.
summer tires and nice aluminum rims in storage last week.

Oct 15th on, April 15th off. Studded snows on everything. Everything that's running at least.

They were A/S tires in about 5 inches of snow . . Happened on a corner . The car was a '86 Dodge Colt 2 door hatch purchased for $800 (?) .

4 COOPER Evolution Winter with studs this week .
Start at 12/32s' .

Put my Michelin X Ice snow suv on our Honda Odyssey this morning. They are on stock wheels with tpms. Got them at the very end of last year on some sort of sale so I couldn’t pass it up considering I was gonna get new ones this year

I go by outside temps, when temps drop to just a few deg above freezing at night - it's time to winter tires, usually mid Oct.
Summer/all seasons go back on when temps stay above freezing at least 7deg at night on regular basis, usually mid Apr.

It's supposed to be 50+ degrees here on Sunday in Eastern Washington so I'll wait another week. I usually try and wait until the beginning of December because the temperatures vary considerably in October and November.

Dunno about you guys but I swap them tires in personal garage with garage door open and like doing it when it's still or already somewhat warm and not blowing snow in. I actually adjust maint sched so I don't do much during winter anyway, just oil changes.

bought my first set of snow tires. Waiting till the 2nd week of December. Not much happening in the long term forecast.

The xB‘s new Contis are mounted & balanced on the newly repainted OEM steelies-watching the weather forecast… The MGM has Tripletreds, so it’s always ready, and the Express still has a pair of studded 10 plys on Ford steelies ready too. 2 years ago, they never got installed at all, but I think this winter will be a different story.
