Who has their winter tires on already?

Yesterday.
2011 GMC 2500 off; 285/75/18 Toyo AT II, on; 295/55/20 Nitto EXO studded on 20x10 Fuel wheels.
2013 GMC 1500 off; 275/60/20 Nitto EXO, on; 275/70/18 GY duratrac studded on 18x9 Fuel wheels.

I gave in and put on snows, last season for these I think, 5 or 6 years old now. I think Thanksgiving I did? Not driving a lot so no big deal (other than having to listen to them, on the occasion I go out).

Almost got snows for my oldest Camry, looked like a good deal on CL, mounted on a set of rims and all. But with a date code of 3103 I decided I didn't need that badly on my spare car.

Goodyear lists the WinterCommand Ultra's as starting at 11/32". According to my depth gauge they are barely over 10/32" at least in my 205/65/16 size. They are listed as a 99H XL (WeatherReady was 95H)
Took the Accord to play in some 6-7" snow today. It did well. Starting on the steeper off camber hill in 7+ needed a bit more finesse from sliding to side but backed up once and no issues.

Now try again with the traction control turned off.
I did that to. It just spun a bit easier and slid a bit quicker toward the curb. 😁

That's when I decided to back up a bit.

I was out doing the testing/playing to see if it would get stuck in different challenges with and without TC. TC doesn't affect the Accord as much due to it being manual transmission. It doesn't cut throttle the same.

My kids did the same things in their cars yesterday. Good to know limits ahead of time. Easier when you have winter gear on. All the cars have shovels, tow straps etc. anyway. We haven't needed them for our own use, knock wood, but have helped others with them.
