Who else names their cars?

mine, friends/ family members cars, whether they like it or not....

mine: (I only currently own only the C-max)
1987 Olds 98- inherited from Grandpa, so it was usually either "grandpa", or "the Oldsmobile"
2000 Hyundai Sonata - "Bob"
2005 Dodge Neon - "Toothless"
2009 Mercury Sable - "Kenny"
2013 Ford C-Max - "Cliff Jumper"

GF Fiancee:
2014 Mitsubishi Mirage - "Blue Berry"

Mom:
2009 Ford Taurus - "Red Leader"

Former Boss - he named his cars as well -
Dodge Dakota (year unknown) - "Beau"
2009(ish) Jeep Commander - "Riker"
2018 Ford Fusion hybrid - "Juan"

other General names -
all Ford Explorers are called "Dora"
all Nissans are named "Liam"

So the 2013 Ford C-Max is the only Autobot in your fleet?

I see an X-wing squad leader, a Starfleet officer, and Dora the explorer.

You guys mean some people don't name their cars ???
- 1996 4Runner: Baba Yaga because of the way she looks
- 2010 535xi E61: The Grandmaster, because every time I try fixing it it's always five moves ahead of me.
- The Santa Fe is The Econosuv, haven't named the Sportage yet because it's too new, but it will probably be the Berserker if the plate sticks.

Well, I guess I am too. I called them out. 😏
we nerds gotta stick together ya know. 😉
and completely by accident, if you look at my car next to my parents' cars... it looks like theirs got together and had a baby...
...if you ignore the fact that my car is 2my older than dad's....

Mom - Red 2009 Taurus
Dad - Sliver 2015 Escape
Me - Red 2013 C-Max

I haven't named my cars, except for a Ford F250 that I bought from a drywall guy. One of his workers scratched "Julio" on the hood, so that's what I call her. I know Julio is a boy's name but cars are girls, so she's a she.

Seems more women name their cars than men in the U.S..

But the Pontiac dealership that took my buddies Safari wagon with a 455 in trade kept it to run parts and called it “Millenium Falcon.”

I have not named a car, but my Garmin is Karen.
I use the British voice on mine, so it's named Daphne after the "Frasier" character

As for the Fleet...the Sonata is just "the Sonata". The Cobalt is "Morpheus", the Dakota is "Red", and the Ranger is "Dad's Truck". 20 years after I transferred the title into my name and it's still his truck.

Oh of course we do!

1985 Dodge 250 8 passenger van - riot van or later known as the Talivan.
Ram 3500 is big blue.
Ford Escape is little blue.
Pontiac Sunfire is shtty blue
The Daihatsu is Shelly the shtbox or Clown car.
The white 6 horse trailer is Betty, for Betty White.
The wheeled skidsteer is Lucky (long politicalstory).
The tracked skidsteer is Lucy because everyone loves Lucy.
The Polaris Magnum is the Green Bastard, parts unknown.
The Evinrude Quiet Flite is just known as the Evinrude.
The rough Johnson Golden Ghost is Shtty Bill.
The restored Golden Ghost is Btchy Mike and the unrestored Golden Ghost is Shaky Mike.

There are plenty more but that gives you an idea.

I never named a vehicle.

A pal bought a used, plum colored Saturn.
His sons associated the hue with kindergarten coloring and nicknamed it "the child molester".
The name stuck but the lads quickly became uncomfortable with the name they had created.

I didn't know any of this, and when I saw it for the first time, I was appalled by the cigarette ashes all over the front carpeting, etc.
I called it "the rolling ashtray" and the previous name was instantly forgotten.

I swear this came up not too long ago. Yes, I absolutely do:
Maddie Mustang
Ellie Edge
Farrah Fusion
All have attitude problems ;)

My wife's Outback is "Frank".
My old Focus wagon, was the "Blue Bomber".
The Impreza is called the "Silly Sedan". I can see how people do like to drive them as they are a touch quieter and its nice having a rear window that doesn't get dirty, but the loss of utility is annoying.
I need to trade it in for a wagon.
