Who else doesn't use tire dressings?

I use armor all spray foam. I've never had any problem with it. Although I'm begining to get a bit tired of being obsessed with shiny tires.

I go for a drive when its raining, in the spring mostly, drive through lots of puddles to wash off the salt. When I do actually wash the car, I do make a point to scrub the tires and wheels a bit.
Before kids, and monotone plastic jellybean cars, I used to wash and wax the '81 Olds Omega Brougham pretty regularly, get that chrome trim shining! And I used to love giving the white sidewalls a light scrub with a sos pad to make them pop! Even in the early 2000's white walls were pretty much over. I might've even tried some tire dressing on it? I haven't used any since at least.

Nothing better than applying a wet paste of Comet to yellowed white sidewall tires then rinsing with a hard stream of water and watch the magic happen .

Chemical Guys sells a lot of garbage but VRP is good. Adds a subtle matte shininess and has a softening effect. Good stuff.

Same. It was cool in high school a few years after that I decided tire shine, IMO was silly.

Nope. I just bought a 2020 Wrangler Sport Willys and hate that my tires were sprayed during detailing. Now it’s too cold to clean them…

They didn’t get it on evenly either.

The only one I liked was a matte finish in a spray can foam that bubbled up tire gunk and you just wiped off the excess of the side wall . The shiny , grease laden other tire dressings are mostly aweful .

I undertand the brown stuff that develops on the tire is exuded from the tire itself. The tires are molded with a UV inhibitor that comes out to protect the tire. I try to leave that brown coating on there for the health of the tire.

I don't mind if other people use them, I think they are pointless.

I only use tire dressing on my Corvette if I have gotten caught in the rain (which is rare) and the tires get extra dirty or after buying new tires. Otherwise I prefer when they just look slightly shiny but not overly done.

And the automatic car wash I use for the Civic adds a little bit of tire dressing that is just enough to look good but not “in your face”

I found some left over “black magic” tire shine in the garage so I used it. Not bad, semi wet look

I've never used it and doubt I ever will. There was a carwash I used a few times that would dress the tires, but I stopped using them along time ago.
