Who else doesn't use tire dressings?

Nope, never use the stuff, much the chagrin of some, lol.

I use some matte tire coating stuff on motorcycle tire sidewalls. Very carefully, and sparingly - applied by hand. It seems that the dirt doesn't stick as much, and the whitewalls are much easier to clean. Our automobiles tires simply get scrubbed.

A good coat of dirt will block the UV rays from damaging the paint .
And when someone's behind rubs vigorously against the dirty finish of your car while they are squeezing past your car in the parking lot they polish the finish with all that grit to a high shine. :ROFLMAO:

We use it all the time its needed. Just go slow and wipe it off asap and it comes out clean and no residue. Patience is a virtue.

In my case, I like to use tire dressing. I'm a big fan of Soft99 and use Tire Wax on a very clean tire (a brush and APC until the foam is white). I prefer the matte look, so once applied, you can buff it to the desired look or not buff it at all.

In a budget, you can use any water-based coating/wax, quick detailer, or trim/interior protectant. Depending of the road or wheather will last several days. those products will usually gives you a matte look.
Detailing products are much more versatile than we think.

I have in the past, but I usually just use stuff for vinyl trim to keep the tires looking less dirty. If I use the shiny stuff at all I never want to drive the car while it’s still wet. I don’t have time to wait for it to dry usually.

I bet my dog would lick off the tire dressing before munching the tire.
One early winter I emptied a big pot of greasy water out back. Had booked some meat and didn't want to plug the pipes or put grease in the septic.
(Out back being the woods, have a few acres)

I swear every dog in the area kept visiting that spot till it thawed out and the rains came.

My idiot dog would decide at 0300 to need to pee but instead end up over there... super fun yelling at the dog while standing in the dooryard in my undies when it's -20* and I just want to go back to sleep.
Had half a mind to say oh well, I'm going in.
