Who do arena's not post seat numbers?

Does anybody know why so many arena's, regardless of city not put any more information in the "seating chart" then the section? Only a few actually put the seat numbers (1-22 for example) and what side the numbers start on.

I ask this because we got screwed at an event in Memphis even though we were promised literally, four times via phone and email out seat numbers were right on the ramp at the event. Got there and on the opposite side of the section. They would do nothing for us.

Why the secrecy for an arena to hide seat numbers?

Here is a prime example:

In FL3, you would assume seats 1 and 2 would be right on the ramp. But depending on arena, they could be on the opposite side and be pretty bad.

Not sure this is the exact reason, but if people were able to choose the exact seats they wanted, it might leave an odd number of seats between people, which nobody wants. Like individual seats left open.

If they sell it by general section, they sell the seats in order and are almost guarenteed to fill the seats more thoroughly

Well, now you know.
but you seem to have a legitimate gripe with those who promised yo something they could not deliver.
Emails? a written record?
Maybe it's worth pursuing this with them and any authorities.
