Replaced the brittle/broken water dispenser nozzle on our +25 year old Whirlpool. I kept putting this off because when I checked for parts, list price was ~$300. When it started to spray all over the place, I decided to bite the bullet. The bullet was now $108 +shipping. Genuine Whirlpool parts. Came with the old and new style nozzles and tube.

About a 20 minute job.
  1. Shut off the water - I chose to shut off the main.
  2. Remove the bottom grate.
  3. Support the freezer door - I used a lab jack.
  4. Remove the tube at the union.
  5. Remove the bottom hinge.
  6. Tie a spool of #24 twine to the end of the tube with duct tape.
  7. Remove the old nozzle from the paddle switch.
  8. Pull the nozzle and tube out - ever had a Foley catheter? 😨
  9. Remove the twine from the tube, re-attach it to the new tube.
  10. Pull the twine back thru the door and out the hinge.
  11. Reverse to reassemble.
Good thing it's a Whirlpool and not a Toyota, or else I'd have to move the roll-away into the kitchen.
