Hello all,

I live in Australia my car calls for 5w30 and has direct injection (most of my trips are super short if the helps).

1. Shell Helix ultra 5w40 - Which I guess would sheer down to 5w30.
2. Shell Helix Ultra 5w30 ECT - Says it helps the exhaust system on diesels (my car is petrol)
3. PUP 5w30 - Going over to the US in 1 month time so I can stock up on a few bottles.

Trying to toss up which of these 3 oils are best or the difference between them. I don't think there'd be much of a difference but since they're all around the same price, I'd rather get the best one for my needs.

Data Sheets:
Helix 5w40

Helix ECT

PUP

I have never used PU but I liked PPPP 5Wx30 in our DI car. It's the winter oil for that car.

PUP 5W30 is an old formulation and was never changed to meet Dexos1 Gen2 requirements. PP Dexos1 Gen2 5W30 is better suited for GDI applications.
