Hello all. First post. I have a DD 2003 Cobra and I live in Texas. I currently run mobile 1 5w-20 with a motorcraft filter. I would like to run something that could be a bit better off for my motor. Any terminator owners out there do some analysis? (i searched but didn't find what I was looking for ) Thanks!

WELCOME!!

It's great to see some other performance domestic owners on here!
There are not too many members into performance cars on here, but hopefully there is at least one more 'termie' owner to help you out??

We just finished some dyno runs with Red Line 5w-20 and the oil performed well. The car is a Cobra kit car done without the restrictions of a budget. The engine is a Ford 5.4L V8 with an Eaton supercharger. People came to see the 5w-20 fail and were disappointed with nothing happened. We have used this viscosity Red Line in several performance applications with good results. Other Xw-20 like Amsoil will probably do just as well.

definitely Id want to go good syn. RL, M1, Amsoil.

You might think of going for a lighter 30wt oil instead, perhaps a VI-less 10w-30.

Amsoil ACD might be a good option.

i figured anything like redline or amsoil would do well. What about the 0w30 castrol european i hear about? Anyone running that?

One would think that the very high 30 weight of the GC would be good in the boosted mod motors.
Especially if you are in southern Tejas, and run for extended periods in that extreme heat.
It's really great stuff in the LSx engines (IF you can find it).
I've never talked to anyone with an '03-'04 Cobra who has run it though.

The oil sold at BMW dealerships are Castrol German. Otherwise you can look for the Castrol with the Made in Germany sticker at some of the local auto parts. Seems to be getting harder to find though.
