Which model commuter car...??? Year end savings

I'm betting not a single Nissan CVT hater in this thread has owned one. Take care of an Altima like a typical BITOG member, and it will treat you well.

My mom has an 07 Altima 2.5 with the CVT. I picked this car out for her. When I was shopping for it I was leaning towards an Accord, but the Altima price was better, and it drove better as well. Decided to take the gamble. I was a little nervous about the CVT myself.

Car has 140k. Here is the list of problems it's had.
Climate control Blower Motor relay had to be replaced.

Oil changes,
CVT drain, and fills every 25k - 30k
1 set of spark plugs.
1 belt.
Tires, Brakes.
Couple of coolant drain, and fills.

Has been an excellent car.

I rented a 2015 Sentra and drove it 1300 miles over the weekend from Boston to Niagara Falls back to Boston (via Canada) and hated that transmission beyond.

Sorry, I'd be one of the last to jump on a CVT vehicle. I'll take a 6 speed auto over one.. Actually I did. 15k miles love the transmission. First auto I've had in a commuter in decades.

Back to the OP. If you can keep the old girl going safely and without a lot of $$$ do that. I retired my last commuter with almost 350k miles.

Happy New Year!
Bill
