Which jigsaw?

I know it's not much of an answer, but I'd say flip a coin.
They're both about 30 bucks, both 4.5 amp motors. Heck the design looks similar. I'd bet they're made on the same line.
Do you like red, or orange ? I think the Skill looks a little more ergonomic, but I've always thought Black & Decker was a better brand. (no proof, just marketing hype I'm sure).
The Skill looks like it's easier to change the blade, and I like it's thumb lock better.
If it were me, I'd go for the Skill.
I hope this helps.
Let us know which you choose.

Tools section?

Anyways, I just got a TOOL SHOP one at Menards for $9.99 and it hauls. Comes with one metal blade and one wood one. variable speed too.

I found that one online but it is $19.99?

Hopping back and forth between the web pages, I'd go for the Skil. The B&D looks a little clunkier than the Skil and the Skil seems to have a little less housing down around the blade, which should allow better sight on the cut line.

This is one of those tools where high quality is really needed. There is typically a lot of vibration with a jigsaw and the higher end models deal with it much better. I like Makita or Bosch.

I started with a cheap Craftsman years ago and I never used it after the first time due to the vibration. I bought a Makita a few years ago and it is great.

+1 I too owned a decent Craftsman made in the USA, not the base model. It wouldn't cut straight. It also wouldn't cut perpendicular. Why? The blades were too thin and easily bent. I hated using the thing.

Finally wised up and spent the money for a Bosch barrel grip jigsaw. Huge difference. Absolutely no comparison. Blades are thicker, much sharper + the Bosch has a roller bearing behind the blade to support it. Great tool.

You get what you pay for. . .

So does the $9.99 one from Menards. I like it so far.
