That right Johnny, you gotta pick good looking Blondes like Stevie Nicks for example.

I guess it's easier to take it out on a "Foreign" company...

Wake up, $#!@ happens and it can happen to anyone. At least they are working hard to make it right.

I'm not trying to start a government bashing thread just trying to show that anyone can point the finger at anything and turn it into a "Boycott" for some reason and the american governments of the past have screwed up royally on multiple occasions and make the perfect example.

I could care less if anyone buys BP again but at least they didn't leave with the "It's your country, you clean it up, and if you don't like it sue us..."

I'm not boycotting castrol. I just feel that If there are 2 great oils available to me at the same price. I would rather give my money to the American company that didn't screw up the gulf coast. Or cause so many Louisiana fisherman to lose their livelihood.

My comment was aimed at the other member not you, but since you answered I will pose this question:

Are you going to avoid every company that has an accident? If so then you shouldn't be doing business with any company because they all screw up at times and it's what they do about it that matters!

Both are overkill for as long as we run our oil changes, if I had to choose one to put in my car and never change it again, just forget about it and run the car till it blew up, I would take Castrol Edge. None of us on this site are going to do that, so get the one on sale.

You have a VERY good point. Even if one is truely better, by how much? By a 0.0001%? Just save yourself some money and buy what is on sale. And that would be PU with their $5.00 mail in rebate around the cap of a 5qt!

If you want to really get upset with BP you'll search for its influence in getting the man convicted of downing the 747 over Scotland (I don't think this is political).

And I'm pretty sure Shell's parent company (which owns Pennzoil) isn't American. In fact I think it's Dutch.

I will say Castrol Edge is better. Because the oil doesn't turn black after 8000 miles. somehow my v6 camry engine like this oil, very quiet. It also give me good mpg with the castrol gtx hm, and castrol syntec.. 33.5 and 33.8 mpg..

This is an accident that had an extreme negative effect on the earth. This is an accident that had an extreme negative effect on 27,000 peoples lives and their families (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/03/us/03seafood.html).

To answer your question.
I will avoid doing business with a company. When I can get the same products, for the same price, from a company that doesn't have these types of accidents.

Is Edge 0W20 better than M1 0W20 ? It costs more but may not be better. I don't think there is much differences between PP, Synpower, M1 and Edge in the 0W20 grade.

Looking at the specs the Edge looked better IMO than M1 0W20. Locally there are only two 0W20 oils on the store shelves, Edge and Mobil 1. I'm not a fan of Mobil 1 so my choice was pretty easy.

Yes, I'm boycotting Castrol, not because they "weren't environmental" or had "an accident", but because they deliberately and REPEATEDLY put the lives of their workers and and the industry around the gulf at risk, by what I consider to be deliberate CRIMINAL negligence and cost-cutting.

Note that EACH egregious willful citations is not a "oops, we'll fix that", but a provable example of them DELIBERATELY ignoring the safety and lives of their workers. They have hundreds of times more than all the other refineries put together.

And yes, I'm boycotting wall street as well for deliberate criminal fraud. I only use banking services of local, reputable credit unions.

I love BP because they drive wholier than thou liberal populists out of their minds.

What really has me annoyed is all of the oil underground in the Gulf and elsewhere around the world. I want to know who put it there and who is going to pump that stuff out. Probably that [censored] George Bush.

Well, let's start a thread that we know is going to be locked, bring up BP and them throw politics into it!

All while I'm at work.

Time to say good night....

Any comments PM me.
