Which is better: AC Delco or Wix?

The AC filter is my favorite in the cheap [$3] category. The Wix is my favorite in the midprice [$5-6] category. I have used both without issue.

The one comment I often hear about Wix is that it has a highish flow rate. Both filter quite fine in the UOAs I've had done.

777: It is a Buick LeSabre '00 with the 3800 II V6. I have already been using the AC Delco PF47; but I figured since you guys have been bragging so much about the Wix filters, that maybe I should switch over to the Wix brand. You know...... only the very best for our cars.

Switch to the slightly longer PF-52. More filtering/flow room for the same money.

BTW... you can get the WIX (Napa Golds) online at fleetfilter.com for the same price as the AC Delco. The secret is to buy enough quantity (for 2-4 vehicles) to cover the cost of shipping charges.

I recently bought nine Napa Golds. Yes.... they have more quality than my AC Delcos. Go to your nearest Napa dealer & have them show you a PF-52 equivalent for your own inspection.

On those cars, I get nervous about using the PF-52, as it hangs down a little TOO low for my comfort. FWIW, if you're going oversize, the Wix equivalent to the PF52 isn't as long...

I've gotten very good insolubles #s with the pf52s in the 5,000 mile/6 month OCIs I use.

terminaldegree, I didn't realize the Wix version of the PF52 was shorter than the Delco. I always wondered why people got nervious running the PF52, I never saw it as a problem with the Wix filter. Good to know.

BTW, the Wix P/N is 51036 for the PF52-equivilant filter.
