Another point to consider: although high ambient temperatures "feel hot" to us human beings, with most engines, oil temperature will correlate with coolant temperature and engine speed, in general. In other words, given the same use, your oil will be operating under the same internal engine conditions, whether it's 60*F outside or 100*F outside. Given a number of assumptions, including a properly-operating cooling system, etc.
 
I agree be careful of that Hyundai warranty they look for every excuse to try to not honor it!
their warrantee is 10 years and 100,000 loopholes
 
crazyoildude: Right you are , I even use their oil filters (they happen to be very good though...)
 
I've used nothing but 5w30 in all my vehicles below. You want heat....come down here now. I know the great debate on thicker vs. thinner oils, but I really believe that the call for 5W-20 is strictly a CAFE issue.
