Which car do you prefer:

2018 ZL-1 Camaro or Grand Sport Corvette ?
I might buy one at the end of this year.

I'm undecided on auto or manual transmission for Camaro. Grand Sport would definitely be manual transmission.

Ford Mustang GT350

Neither, a 911 even a base one would be my pick. Let's see a hopped up Camaro or a 911, hmmmm. Easy choice there.

Chevy SS. 4 doors. Fast.

...Probably a Camaro though. Regardless of what you chose, I'd go with a non convertible. Neither look good IMO and the Florida sun is brutal. At least with a Jeep, you can get a bikini top to keep the sun off you.

They both nice cars. What I would suggest is to drive both for a long test drive to see which one pleases you the most. You will be spending lots of hard earned $$$ Why the Vette or Camaro and not the mustang or Challenger "as a matter of conversation" One of my friends always wanted a Ferrari 328 and finally bought one and after driving it a bit found out it was a chore to climb in and out of and it bottomed out every chance it could. It sits in the garage, I like American iron myself.

Camaro ZL1 if you are buying it for pure track stuff. It has out done the GS in just about every test.

If you can't or don't want a Camaro get the corvette, but generally when you are dropping that coin on a performance car
you are looking at numbers and numbers don't lie.

I dislike Motor Trend but this lays it out pretty good.

ZL1 1LE

I vote Corvette.

Reason: The Vette is the last of the lightweight, RWD, front engine, normally aspirated V8 powered cars. The Camaro is exceptionally heavy, at 4000+ pounds in real world use, as is the Mustang.

And the performance numbers reflect that power to weight ratio. Note: the Mustang GT with 10 speed automatic is about as fast as the Vette in the 1/4. But on the road or track, the 'Vette is head and shoulders more competent.

The supercharged Camaro is a touch faster, but it needs 200HP more to achieve that. I see it as driving an overweight Nascar beast on the street. Insanely capable, not really a sports car.

5th Gen is 4000+lbs the 6th gen is not. 6th Gen is on a completely new chasis. The ZL1 is 3800lbs and you are looking at 3400 at the C7 GS. So 400 lbs and 200 HP.

If you want a track toy yea 400 lbs is a decent amount id likely edge to the C7 but, the ZL1 with the LT4 and all the goodies from the C7 GS(E-diff,magnetic ride..etc) id choose Zl1.
