Which cars do you wish that had a 2-dr coupe ?

I am a fan of coupes, but i have noticed several new and not-so-new 4-door sedans that look(ed) great, and always thought "man, i wish they made a sporty 2-dr version of that..."

Here's my list of cars i'd love to (have) see(n) in a 2-dr/coupe version:

1st Gen Olds Aurora v8 (probably my all time fav. of good looking 4 dr sedans)
Mazda Millenia S (1st and 2nd gen)
Mazda 6
Audi A4 and A6 and A8
1994-1996 Chevy Impala
Nissan Maxima up to 2002 or so (before the bloated remodel)
Hyundai Sonata ???
Ford Fusion ???
 
Not a coupe, but I wish Mazda made the 3 in a three door hatch. That would be awesome.

i wish Volvo had made a 2 door or 3 door R car. not the new R-design, but with the 300hp 5cyl turbo, active suspension and brembo's like the S60R and V70R.
 
A few I could think of:

Olds Intrigue and/or '97-'04 Buick Regal
Buick Lucerne
'06+ Impala (aka the '06-'07 Monte should have had all the improvements the Impala received, not just different nose.)
Current Malibu or Saturn Aura (w/o the raked rear and small deck of the G6 coupe though)
Saturn L-series (if it could have been made to look like a larger SC2)
The previous body style Acura TSX
The previous body style Saab 9-3

Yeah, an A4 coupe based on the A4 cab would have been sweet. Of course Audi finally came up with the A5, which is pretty nice as well (in person).

An e39 coupe would have been cool.
 
it would; what i meant was that at the time A5 was NOT available, i used to wish there WAS a coupe of A4 or A6.

and your link goes to nothing about A5; perhaps it requires log in or something.??

My last 2 cars were coupes. Well, the Accord is a true coupe and RSX was a hatch. Before that we had a few Audi Coupes. The silver RSX was an ode to the last one we had, in silber.

Me too! If the 3 came in a 2 or 3 door body I would most likely be driving one now.

They did, it's called the European Ford Focus Hatchback. It comes with a 5 cyl turbocharged engine (from the Volvo lineup), and can whoop the mazdaspeed and many other small hatches.
 
I wish they made a real 2-door version of the G6 sedan, they totally ruined a lot of the G6's good looks when they did the coupe.
 
I'd love a big 2-door! My Park Avenue would look awesome as a coupe, as would the Lincoln Town Car and the latest Chevy Impala. And yes, the Lincoln MKZ should have a coupe version, and the first-gen Olds Aurora should have had one.

There was a time when nearly all the big American models offered a coupe version, from the stripped Chevy Biscayne up to the Cadillac Calais, and from the Ford Galaxie 500 up to the Lincoln Continental. Mercedes has usually offered a coupe of its E-Class (just saw a commercial for the new E-Coupe yesterday; sleek!) and S-Class (remember the W126 and W140 coupes? Wow).

I suppose they don't allow remote loading. You can see the image URL for a moment, then the link changes. I linked a picture of an A5.

I agree with you entirely. the sedan version of the G6 is a far better looking car. One of my favorite new GM's infact.

It did...it got the same range of new engines and an updated interior.


I really like that Mazda 3 3-door mockup.

Strange that Mazda hasn't created a coupe out of the new 6, considering the Camry, Altima and Accord offer one.

Like mentioned above, the first generation Aurora would've made a stunning coupe. It was a stunner as a sedan, IMO.
