2013 Fiesta SE Hatch 5 Speed manual. Need help shopping for front strut assy. Will be replacing while replacing the transmission. I am looking for quality but not high performance. Car handles well as is.
I got Bilsteins (B6 for front and B4 for rear) on RockAuto for our Ecosport. I know it’s not the fiesta but it’s the higher ride height AWD version of the Fiesta. They ride really nice.
I’d go with KYB. They are economical, made in the USA, and very high quality. If you don’t want to unload and load the front struts, there are Monroe quick struts available; not as high quality as KYB but very decent overall.
I've had good luck with the Monroe Quick Struts. Unfortunately, all my vehicles had independent suspension. The quick struts made the job go faster. Roughly 6 yrs later, they're still holding up. No leaks.,,yet,,fingers crossed. They give a nice smooth ride, and handled a fair share of pot holes.
Went w/KYB from RockAuto. Ordered bellows and bumper for KYB as well. Already have top mounts. I put 600,000 miles on KYB's I put on 72 Datsun 1200 coupe.
The fiesta has rattling sound in front suspension. Already replaced swaybar bushings and links. Ball joint is good. Struts seem to work OK. I can push the body down release and the suspension does not bob up and down. The struts show a very minor amount of fluid leakage but decided to replace struts while I have car up in the air for transmission replacement.
