Which Brand of Oxygen Sensor?

In late August I replaced the original O2 sensors on my Jeep just for the heck of it. I ordered Delphi sensors and shortly after on startup the Jeep would stumble and run poorly for a couple minutes, when driving it would stumble and cut out but after a couple minutes it would run fine. Saturday it was doing it the morning I was taking it out of town and it finally set a CEL for the upstream O2 sensor. I put the old sensors back in and I haven't driven it but I started it and it runs fine. Would still like to put some new ones in again though. I'm returning the Delphi sensors. Rock Auto has Denso, Bosch, and NTK (which might be OEM? Not sure). Any recommendations?
 
Bosch, Denso and NTK supply the OEMs - I've never had a problem with a Bosch I installed but that was 10 years ago. Check to see if the sensor is dirty and if you know how to probe a O2 sensor with a DVOM, check to see the output. O2 sensors die when they get oil or lead fouled and after misfire events.

Nick I had the same problem with my 15 Journey (now out of warranty) and I tried replacing it with an SPI and still had the same error code as you so I went and bought one from the dealer and the problem went away.

Do you mean the OEM branded sensors? If so, then there is no reason whatsoever to purchase those. No way I'm spending double for the exact same Bosch sensor for my BMW that just happens to have the BMW logo on it. Same for my Toyota cars and Denso or my Honda and NTK.
 
Mopar OEM only or you'll be chasing the codes. NTK is the OE sensor manufacturer on your Jeep but just get one from the dealer. For some reason Chrysler stuff is crazy picky about O2's.

Because they'll make your car run like a dog unless it originally came with Bosch sensors. Not enough to set a check engine light, but if you accrue enough enough "close-enough reading" Bosch sensors you'll eventually have some really hard-to-diagnose driveability issues.
 
Who makes the OEM sensor? Just buy that. I needed an O2 sensor for my Accord and Denso was the OEM. I bought it online for half the dealership price.

Because the PCM/ECU can't seem to calibrate correctly for some manufacturers like Toyota. Rather than find out the hard way if your car works with Bosch O2 sensors, just say no is my advice. You can google horror stories, they are all over the interwebs.

Denso has become cheap (price) online, not sure why .

Hmmmm I have often wondered about that. Years Ago, I have had a truck run WORSE (and worse MPG) after replacing the O2 sensors with Bosch O2's from autozone. I sure thought that was weird, and it ran better putting the old ones back in again. I thought it was just a bad batch.
 
Ok, NTK it is. I now see there is different part numbers for a 1996 and 1997 Cherokee. Some parts on my Jeep like transfercase bearings and coolant temp sensor have had to be for a 1997, it was a weird period for Jeep. Unsure which year to get.
