i need a new serp belt for my 04 dakota 3.7, i've always been partial to goodyear gatorback belts but am interest in trying the dayco w rib belt but have never had any experience with them.

I've been happy with Gates and Napa (made by Gates) belts. I was not satisfied with a Dayco belt I used about six year ago, and haven't gone back to them (wore out too quick).

I think Dayco did a very nice job with their FAQ, Id be comfortable buying their belts.

I used a gatorback in my truck, which does not get a lot of use, and it started getting very "chirpy" this spring, after only about three years. I replaced with a gates and it is silent. Not sure if this is a negative for the gatorback, but per the FAQ, it seems like the belt should have lasted 7 years + in non-severe service. A chirping belt to me is a problematic belt.

I was also a die hard Gatorback user but tried one of the new Dayco Poly belts this past week. Nice belt,it relaxed well making it easy to around the pulleys and runs silent, the sizing was very accurate for the truck. I'm very satisfied so far.IMO well worth a try.

we run our fleet vehicles continuously as stationary power sources at 1500-1750 rpm.

Dayco belts have lasted years on these trucks, i am sure they are good enough for regular use for a LONG time.
