Which auto parts place do you shop at?

I forgot good ol Amazon for stuff that is not in a hurry. Good a whole Moog front end for my mom's Grand Marquis for less than any of the jobbers had the parts as long as I picked super slow panga boat from China shipping.

For consumables: Autozone ( via web site for discounts), Walmart for Motorcraft filters, and some oils. Grade A petroleum for my Kendall Full Synthetic by the case.
For hard parts: Don-Jay auto parts. They carry and /or order both Delco and Motorcraft (and regular oem) parts as necessary. I get a small discount there for dealer parts.

AdvanceAutoParts due to codes for nearly everything, Rockauto for anything that's cheaper than Advance-with-code.

However, I live one block walking distance to an Autozone, and they normally get business from me for emergency items, such as a tool I'm missing, fuses, light bulbs, etc.

Pretty thin pickings on the mid-peninsula of the SF Bay Area. If I need something right away or not enough quantity to order online, then I usually just give in and shop O'Reilly's. Sometimes I can generate reasons to drive to one remaining locally owned outfit close by in Redwood City, Kohlweiss, although they've cut back their hours.

Most of the time I can order what I need from RockAuto.com except for oil or anti-freeze.

Amazon has gotten a lot of big-ticket items purchased from them. Advance was a close second. Now it's either the local Honda dealer that's within a few dollars of online once shipping is factored in since no other place carries anything for the Fit, or RockAuto for Cruze parts.

-Autozone for big orders I can put on my rewards card.
-Oreilly for general stuff.
-Advance if its closest or I want Bosch spark plugs.
-Napa or the hole in the wall speed shop/bumper to bumper store for when I'm piecing weird stuff together and need a lot of little hardware type stuff(HUGE weatherhead cabinent at both). Or when i need a 20ft chunk of exhaust tubing same day.

Most of my oil and filters come from walmart since they started selling purolator.

"Suburban...uhhhhhh, that's a Dodge, right?".....that was at AutoZone. Advance Auto for me. I like the online discounts, and they aren't high school idiots.

When I was at O'Reilly, many many years ago, the District Manager was visiting us to be a general nuisance and to do whatever it was that he felt warranted a visit.

We were swamped with commercial calls and retail customers. Super busy. He decided to roll up his sleeves and "help"

"Uhhhh....why can't I find Blazer?"

Glance over at his screen and he's got Ford pulled up.

To the best of my knowledge, he is still an O'Reilly DM.

I had a lot of fun at his expense. I would overhear what part he was looking up and tell him, "I know where it is. I'll get it for you when I go get my customer's part." I would bring back every conceivable upsell item and wait for him to pitch them. Listen to him squirm and try to tell them why they needed caliper grease or whatever.

Being in Hawaii we have limited parts depending what get in the warehouses for quick pick up. Or it's special order from the mainland. Napa/Carquest has a network of warehouses here. Toyota dealership has a warehouse of Toyota parts. Oreilly is limited to what the individual stores have. Indie shops for German/Euro makes (need to build up that list.)
