Yes, the OP of that thread had much difficulty with his identification of the adbv material, as was noted when the link was first posted last month (linked below)*. However some of his filtration results duplicate that of river_rats previous testing such as the excellent P1 filtration results and the relative inefficieny of the no endcap type filters, which was later confimed by Amsoil's 2011 ISO testing of the Toyota oem. But, as for the after comments (as Zee has pointed out) and some conclusions drawn, like most tests of this type, I take them with a grain of salt. Imo, river_rats conclusions were more objective and let the filtration results speak for themselves without bias.
As for the Amsoil filter, other than pics, dissections and comments posted here honestly not that familiar with their specific manufacturing process. The Donaldson synthetic media use has been long posted pretty much as described in the previous link. How that would work with now supplying either Wix and/or Champ, or even if that's still holds true, can't say. But the similarities to Wix and Champ construction can be clearly seen in that link. That and there is at least one thread here(Bitog), not too old, showing identical tapping plates between a Royal Purple and an Amsoil filter. Ok, just found it, pics and thread.....

Beyond that, can't confirm the design of current Amsoil synthetic media.
