Which 75W80 GL5 manual transmission oil?

Hi,

my gearbox calls for a 75W80 GL5 oil with non corrosive EP additive as it has brass synchronizer rings. I actually have TransElf TRJ 75W80 oil which is a synthetic blend lubricant with excellent cold weather viscosity carateristics (47 cSt at 40°C). However this lubricant has only a viscosity of 8.5 cSt at 100°C and I fear this may be too thin for my gearbox as most 75W80 oils are around 10 cSt at 100°C.

Do you think 8.5 cSt can be a problem in a manual transmission (premature wear)?

Do you have recommendation for a good european available (possibly full synthetic) 75W80 GL5 transmission oil for use in a synchromesh transmission? (Redline products are not applicable in my case as their GL5 are not suited for synchromesh transmissions and MTL, MT90 are GL4).

sorry i can't help, but i am curious what car requires an 80 weight GL5 lubricant.

Mine is a Volvo S40 with engine and transmission that are available only in Europe (atmospheric 2.0 140hp). The gearbox is built by Renault (French manufacturers). In Europe, a lot of manufacturers such as Renault, Citroen, Peugeot, Fiat, Alfa Romeo?...call for 75W80 GL5 oils.
