I apologize ahead of time if I asked this months ago. The girlfriend has me on a good, diet and no slacking. I read that the whey isolate is processed more and may be better for you. Currently using this whey protein in smoothies daily. Cut dairy out totally. Honestly I’ve lost almost 33lbs since 3 months ago. Feel a lot better, way more energy, alertness and overall clarity.

thank you in advance

To answer the question I believe the isolate is better but not because it's processed more. Isn't it processed less? I could be wrong but that is my understanding.

the good news is if the difference between whey and whey isolate is truly meaningful to your health....you Sir are in an amazing place. Love it and God bless ya! Side note, I've always said a man needs a good woman more than a good woman needs a man!

From talking to few fitness folks and googling; the isolate if more processed, so dunno what to believe. Stuff I’m using or whey protein is like 120 calories, really low sodium and tastes good.

yes, I am very lucky to have a beautiful, lovely caring woman also

I've used Syntha 6 for years. My kids now use it in banana blueberry strawberry and milk smoothies. I'm in a good place with gym and biking but I don't see a further benefit for a more strict regime .... not when I like my wine! and I enjoy restaurants. If I were to get THAT hardcore than sure I'd go there.

I'm 48 and I seek the right balance between living life and being around to live more life! I enjoy cooking and dining and love wine and beer. Good beer that is! In the last year I've dropped 95% of beer consumption. I sure do enjoy a Coors Light or Miller light or even a Corona w/ lime on the beach but to me real beer is legit IPA. I very much enjoy an IPA with a good meal. Consumption of liquor is rare for me; although I do appreciate a high-end bourbon (Makers or Knob Creek at a minimum) with a good RibeEye or flank or prime rib.

Isolate is a higher part protein. Less calories from other stuff per serving. It costs a bit more, not worth it for most diets.

i like natural factors double chocolate grass fed whey protein, non GMO + hormone free in my raw milk after my 2 meals daily1 53 stude its good to hear your getting healthier + your handle 53 stude is one of my all time fav cars!

Not really a significant difference. The regular Whey has some more fat and sugar, but it's so negligable it's not worth worrying about unless you're cutting. The important part is to buy a quality product.

I've been using the vanilla flavored Muscle Milk mix. I mix collagen, biotin, and creatine with it into a glass of 2% milk as a post workout shake. I also take a DHEA pill with it.

That’s precisely what I was going to recommend. A mix of different forms of protein with different absorption rates. Most flavors are delicious as well. There used to be competition from Optimum Nutrition and Sportpharma with similar products, but I believe those have gone out of production.

The Muscle Milk variant is excellent as well, coming with more calorie count coming from fats as I recall.

Straight isolate, for whatever reason, dries my mouth out and someone once told me is on the dehydrating side compared to other forms of whey.

Whey isolate does not contain lactose. If you are lactose intolerant you should go with whey isolate. Whey protein has also lactose in it. 💨

Too much protien in your diet will leech calcium from your bones.
Large amounts of protein can acidify you. There's potential for calcium getting leached. I don't believe this to be a problem with reasonable amounts of protein bring consumed.

Large amounts of animal based proteins acidify you.

Vegetable proteins makes your body more alkaline.

I personally do vegan protein blends... I just pick up some https://orgain.com/products/organic-protein-superfoods-plant-based-protein-powder from Costco, and mix it with unsweetened vanilla Almond milk or Oat Milk (depends on my mood)...

My assumption was this was about animal protein because overdoing plant protein isn't easy. I absolutely agree with you. Like I have mentioned in other posts, I have been cutting down on animal protein quite a bit despite being a passionate carnivore. I started this a couple years ago and I feel very good. After eating a large steak I feel noticeably sluggish. More often than not I now use meat as a flavoring rather than the main ingredient in a dish.

I ate 2 beef skewers from Trader Joe's for dinner with a bag of broccoli last week.... It felt like I had indigestion, but I was not feeling well afterwards...

Red meat gives me so much energy that it makes me feel invincible!! I eat more red meat than anything else in my diet.
