Great Graph IMHO. Eating and drinking OUT IS big business. I don't like the melding of all-in-one for Ecommerce, but I get it. Pretty sure there are quite a lot of the lower ranked items in that category of course. This is really about malls dying (again)

Think of the money you would save by not owning a vehicle or even driving cheap used vehicles. I have lost lots of money on a total of 6 Corvettes through the years but the fun was worth the cost. That's not counting all the other vehicles hahaha.

When you see a Vette go by you don't think to yourself "someday" or "man I'd love to have a Corvette" because you had that experience. And that's an experience that a LOT of people would like to have. I have never thought of reconciling the amount of money I've spent on two wheeled stock. But whatever that number is, it was worth it 👌

I’m surprised restaurants and bars are doing so well given all the stories of Bittog favourites closing down. With 1/3 of the boomers gone, I guess certain favourites would be closing.

Curious as to what Ecommerce entails.
We've just booked some travel online and it greatly increases our online purchasing, for example.
Also, shouldn't gas be included in motor vehicles?
Not sure how valid or useful this chart might be, although the trend lines appear valid.

That's how I feel about the BMW diesel I currently drive. It was an itch I needed to scratch, and although I will probably never buy another BMW, I don't regret it.

I suppose they have a reason for omitting Taxes, Lot Rent, Apartment Rent, Homeowners Ins., Car Ins, HOA fees, etc.
I realize this chart describes retail sales, so it's the money left over from all those other thing. A rather small amount sometimes!
Answered your own question. I did think the same..........$25K for mortgage.........$8K for prop tax...........$6K for sales tax...........$4K for insurance........Propane and electric $2K...............cable net....streaming........and so on..............

I keep trying to talk myself into buying a newer / new truck. I can't make myself drop that much cash so thinking about financing. But that $600 a month payment and my insurance would be about $800 every 6 months for the truck itself. Not including my other two vehicles.

Right now with my rolling junk piles, I just renewed my insurance for $600 for another six months.

Maintenance ads up but right now I'm not spending $750 a month on vehicle payment and extra insurance

I agree, I have my 2014 F150 and it still looks great and I purchased it over 10 years ago with low mileage. At this time you couldn't pry my fingers from it especially since it is very reliable. 5.0 Coyote engine and 36 gallon tank and has only 85,000 miles.

Money is nothing but a tool, you either have mastery over it or it masters you. More often than not, people choose to let their goals and dreams slip away by using all the water in the tower with no plan for replenishment. I have always used society in general as a reverse barometer. If everybody else is doing it, it's probably a bad idea.
