where to vacation

In March, what about Los Angeles, nice warmer weather, ocean, Disneyland, and mountains within driving range? Since time is limited I would fly to LA and spend a few days there, then maybe rent a car drive to the Grand Canyon, Hoover dam are etc.
I don't know if you plan on flying though. My dad once took us on a 6 day vacation and drove from OKC to LA and back. That's a lot of driving though and even a little more from AR.

North Carolina has mountains and a coast, and there's Myrtle Beach to the South and Virginia Beach to the North.
If you can skip the mountains, Florida is perfect in March.

All the above are great options. Id add nashville, and i thought naples florida was quite nice.

Washington state has a forest that goes all the way out to the
ocean. I've never been there but I floated by on the USS Tripoli.

AGREED ! Close enough to Ark = easier on the budget !

Head across the mountains for Kitty Hawk then, start driving south down the outer banks (there are a couple of ferrys too) until you've had enough. Hwy 17 to A1A to St Augustine Florida oughta do it.
Hilton Head is awesome in March....not a lot of tourist and nice temperatures. You can hang out on the beach all day. Good beaches too. You can hit Smokey Mountains...either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge in about 6 hours from there. Then from there back to Arkansas on I-40 will take you about 10 hours, depending what part of Arkansas you live. That's what I'd do...it would be like the two in one special!!!! But....check spring break times....if your in the middle of that.....could be "interesting."
North Carolina is an excellent vacation destination. And it's within a (long) day's drive from Arkansas. I drove from Paragould, AR, straight through to my home in Fayetteville, NC, in 14 hours last fall. So it's doable.

Make your way across the NC/VA border to the coast and then head down the outer banks area. Lots of small fishing towns and historic villages. End your trip in the Wilmington area, where you're at the beginning of I-40, and you can high-tail it home at the end of the week.

Southern California would be nice for both mountain and the ocean, and you can visit all the national park (Yosemite) as well as the beautiful coastline. A lot of German tourists love to do the desert, snow cap, and ocean tour on the same day where the bus go from Tahoe to, Death Valley, and Santa Monica all on the same day (winter only of course, there's no snow otherwise)
Depends on you and your budget. Be way cheaper to drive your own, but there are other factors you got to consider. I drove from Oklahoma City to Hilton Head S.C. non stop last year....18 hours total in our CRV with the wife and a 9 year old....NEVER AGAIN.

I think we will drive the whole way. Not real big on airplanes.
