Where to get PP 5w40?

I've seen PP 5w30 do well in Euro turbo cars in summer weather...so I dunno if 5w-40 is always a necessity.

I use PP 5w-40 European in my Subaru Outback. I put it in from the first oil change. Due to it being a new car, I change it out between 6000 and 7500 miles. Warranty says 7500 mile OCI's. I drive 100+ miles a day for work so I wanted what I considered the best for my application. No complaints so far. O I L S T O R E . C O M has it. It is a little more expensive but worth it to me. Besides, it is what they use in European cars. Tougher requirements for oil there.

Well, Shell has never submitted it for approval, so take your pick. Put it this way, Shell does not recommend it for any type of 229.51 application.

Nickdfresh, as for as I know it is the same as Helix Ultra.

OP didn't say this was necessarily FOR a Euro vehicle, so meeting Euro specs 'may' not be a necessity?

After using the PP 5w-40 for awhile I am going to change to Rotella syn 5w-40. The price has gone up on the PP euro. It is real expensive now.
