we also have issues sourcing SAE 40 for our 671TiB’s. We have low oil pressure issues on Rotella after running off shore. Delo doesn’t do it to us.
Yeah, the “foaming” I’ve been reading about has him worried. He found a distributor near DuBois PA.
Sae40 CF-2 is hard to find. Seems everyone only has 30.
I needed some a couple years ago for a piece of equipment and had to settle on 30 as nobody could get me 40 at a reasonable price or time frame .

Sinopec sae 40 cf-2 is a go to for a friend of mine. Always see buckets of it at his shop since he owns old dump trucks for his business, refuses to buy new. Yeah it's china owned but the oil is made in singapore I think or somewhere else in asia that's not china but it's cheap. 70 bucks shipped for a pail is decent. Hope it allows shipping where you're at as I've read that can be an issue.

I buy Rotella T1 SAE40 from Canadian Tire. Recently bought some Sinopec SAE40 from there website and running that. https://buysinopec.com/products/sae-40-two-stroke-diesel-engine-oil-5-gallon-pail
What are your oil pressures at idle and running? DD specs are 4psi at idle and 30-40 at rpm. DD oil pumps are a volume pump and not considered a high psi pump.

6psi with rotella. factory installed warning buzzer goes off at 8psi. delo keeps us above 10
We ran Delvac 1230 in all ours for many years. Ours were in firetrucks that got full throttle as soon as they lit. We never had a bad oil analysis and a few of them I know the whereabouts of are still running strong 35 yrs later. I recall in the past that we tried to use a different oil due to supply issues and we found that it didnt have the low ash content that Detroit recommends for the 2 strokes. As I recall it was a name brand monograde but after investigating it was out of spec.

I saw that Saturday. Unfortunately they stock 3 gallons at the store closest to me and another 3 gallons across town .
Thing likely holds 8+ gallons and in order to get the rest a guy would have to drive a couple hrs to get the rest.
I believe Ca banned those engine 30+ years ago so finding the oil for them here is unusual.
