So I just replaced a Ford Escort (91) radiator and the old one is either going to the municipal garbage station scrap or someone that will pay me for the aluminum. I heard that to get good money I'll need to cut the plastic tank out of the radiator but I do not want to waste time, get dirty, and the risk of cutting myself to make a few extra dollar.

How much would I get with the plastic tank on? I was searching online and the scrap radiator seems to be at $0.70/lb. and where should I bring it to?

As Chris said, you need a lot of scrap metal to make the trip worth it. If you don't, just leave it on the curb early before garbage day and let the roaming pickers have it.

I set my stuff on the curb in front of the house. There's a junkman that strolls thru daily. I left a radiator, 2 brake rotors and an old carpet shampooer...was gone in a matter of hours.
