I keep mine on the garage floor in an unheated garage. I use synthetic, but store a couple cases of Havoline Dino just in case of a national oil emergency...
It's 7 Degrees in my garage right now, -5 outside.
I use to store it in my unheated garage but I ran out of room. It's now in my basement where my wine rack use to be. I quit drinking so I had to put something of value down there.
Johnny...........I bought some Pennzoil SM 10w30 last week. They were in the one gallon jugs. On the side it says, "purebase", does that mean this oil is made from "cleaner" base stocks?

That's what they call their Group II+ base stock. Good choice.
Is it true that PP has a 60 month shelf life, and storing it in the cold reduces that? Valvoline said not to worry about (several years) shelf life on their products and they can be stored anywhere. I like to take advantage of sales and don't mind having a few years supply on hand.

Like Johnny said, all Pennzoil has been "purebase" for many years.
Excellent oil. *if* I had to buy only one brand, that is what I would buy.

Ok thanks. I pickd up 3 cases containing 2 one gallon jugs each case (6 gallon jugs total) for $20.55. Comes out to about $.85 per quart.
Thanks Bill........$.85 per quart, couldn't pass it up even though I really wanted the 5w30 instead but it wasn’t on sale, only the 10w30. I asked the cashier if that was the correct price ($8.00 for a case containing 2 one gallon jugs) and she said, "yea that's before the B J's discount." I asked her why it was so cheap and she said, "it wouldn't sell." I told her, "yes it will, I'll be right back."
