When to clean my coolant filter questions???

I installed the Tefba on the zx2 about 70 miles ago. coolant temps are running the same/nearly the same as before the filter. So I don't believe it to be overly restrictive. I have done a drain and refills of coolant every year for the last 8-9 years so I don't believe it has a lot of trash in the cooling system.It is kinda a pita to service. I plan on servicing at my next oil change in about 2,000 miles or when the temp needle starts to creep up.
Any issues here????

I am on the fence about installing one so I would be curious what you find.

I wonder if this solves a problem what was already solved with better coolants over the past 10 or so years.

But I have a "kick heater" in my house that has gotten clogged up with crud from the heating system. Maybe install one of the coolant filters in that line. The "kick heater" in a house is kind of like a heater core in a car and has small passageways.

Wow, you learn something new every day. Especially on this site. I have never heard of a coolant filter before.

I installed the coolant filter because I wanted the radiator, water pump, heater core, hoses and thermostat to last as long as possible. My belief is that if you remove trash if there is any, that you will greatly extend the life of the components.

I've got a Wix 24070 coolant filter on my 2.2 Ecotec for about 700 miles now - the black grit is already gone from my overflow tank and my Dex-cool went from dark (muddy?) red to bright red, like new.

The filter is plumbed as a bypass.

I'll probably change it out when the CHG OIL dinger goes off in the next 1000 miles or so. "They" say that the first filter will clog quickly even if you've regularly drained and flushed your cooling system.

I'll probably leave subsequent ones on for two OCIs. You're apparently not supposed to leave them on for more than a year.
