Some years back I posted the 2nd video in the series, that was about Basic Training. The openig scene was Moscow. Wit Dyer saying how BT is basicly the same world wide and has been perfected over 2000 years.

The rest of the program follows a bunch of recruits taking BT at Paris Island (in about 1980)
My thought was, some members here might have gone through the same, and have some interesting comments.

I was supprised to get a 2 week vacation from BITOG, and the post removed

They might still have had certain tracts of land had they maintained the deterrence.

I doubt it would have made a difference. Nobody can use nuclear weapons without assuring the demise of his own country, unless against a country without nuclear allies and with acceptable cause (UN).

That's what the video posted earlier is all about... and it's correct, IMO...

That was my conclusion also.

Add to that, each major war is different to the last major war (in the way it is fought)

So perhaps that is where we are now.

We fight an enemy, that does not wear a uniform, that fights for an ideal, not lines on a map, and we use multi $k rockets from multi million $ jets, to destroy Toyota pick ups!
With no known 'end game'

The caution is, you do not invade a country with nukes.

You might topple their leader, and insert one more to your liking.??

What we have done the last 14 years is not war. The definition of combat engagement would be a better term. What the allies did to Germany and Japan or what the Union did to the Confederacy is war.

Indeed. at they are doing is a direct reflection of the fact that they do not want to engage in War, mostly because they know they would lose.

I believe that's exactly where we are, and where we'll stay until all the major players see eye to eye about the issue.

I have no love for the russians, but it's idiotic to think that they're the only one with an agenda there. In fact, I like their agenda better than funding or supporting ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

I wonder if people are better of after the Arab Spring. Somehow I doubt that's true for the majority... so it would be iteresting to know why and how this happened as the (r)evolution likely wasn't natural.
