When do you usually stop mowing in the fall?

I know every year is unique, but when on average do you think you mow your lawn for the last time each fall? It’s been super dry here and I’m thinking that unless we get a good amount of rain soon I think I might only have to make one last pass at the end of the month. Our yard is so dry it’s brown and crunchy.

Every year is different, Ive only mowed maybe five times this year, I haven't been watering consistently the last few years because my irrigation lines are cracking so the water spends more time off while I repair the lines.

Normally done mowing by mid Nov on average.

Here in western WA sometimes as early as third week of October sometimes into second week of November. Anything after that is to suck up leaves but the ground gets pretty soggy by then. I have mowed as early as first week of February sometimes not until second week into March.

Mid November, is the last cut of the lawn. At that point I winterize the mower and change the oil, so it is stored with clean fresh oil over the winter months. I've been doing this for decades now.

Usually for me, it is sometime around Thanksgiving. But I have no idea this year. I've only mowed twice in the past 8 weeks. We are dry, dry, dry. Haven't even put on any fall fertilizer yet, and there's no need to, since nothing is growing.

It is going to be brutally dusty when the farmers start taking out the crops. And field fires are going to be a real danger.

Depends on how dry things get. Right now there hasn't been any measurable rain in almost 2 months so I think I've only mowed twice in that time. Only grass that is growing is around the drainfield so the backyard is the only thing getting attention now. Usually when the last leaves fall around November is when I put the mower away. I mulch the leaves as I'm too lazy to rake them...

When the grass no longer needs regular mowing I switch over to the "as needed " schedule to keep the leaves mulched . I never really stop altogether .
