Wheel Spacers...

This will be my first time with spacers, these are 1.25" or 31mm almost the same as the wheels I'm considering for the T4R so I'll get a cheap feel for the wider offset as well..wondering what sort of ying and yang to keep an eye on?

I'll keep the stock lift but pushing the wheel out a little will look good so that's a plus...

The new TRD grey rims will be the same offset as my stock + spacer and I'm thinking a nice set of +1 KO2 A/T tires as this vehicle will be called on for foul weather and occational off road here but not a ton of I-system.
 
Thats a pretty stout ute . I thought of getting one but its bigger than I want as a daily driver. The spacers may make the wheels look cool, but you are not doing the wheel bearings and the suspension any goodness with the wider track and bigger tires. The lift kit is another MPG fail.I'm sorry, the rig looks too nice for any real off road fun. I went through all of this 30 yrs ago with Grand Wagoneers. Setting the car up for 1/10th of one % of its use that is detrimental to the other 99.99% of its use...

In terms of fashion. I don't know which is more useless. Rims and tires of 18 + inches or tail fins

Me too... I found everything is a compromise.
A small-ish lift makes it handle/drive worse on road, and doesn't help much off-road.

Over time, I ended up building a dedicated off-road rig and left the on road vehicles stock.
 
Spacing the tires out farther... wouldn't that toss more mud, dirt, water up the side of the vehicle?
 
this is really not much at 1.25" I'm only doing it for looks no suspension lift..now I found out with only a 1.25 spacer I may have to grind down the wheel studs, had that been known I would have not bought these...this could get more expensive and bother than I care to go changing studs cause once ground they probably won't be workable without the spacer...deal killer for me yet they're on the way.
 
1. You have to replace the lugs to compensate for the spacer
2. It will beat up the hub bearings a lot more, as you have greater torque acting on it.
3. You should put antiseize on the spacer, so it doesn't seize to the brake rotor, in case you need to remove it (been there)

And more importantly, rocks that will scratch the paint.

I've also just never been a fan of the wheels sticking out past the body. Flush, is perfect but I feel like 1.25 will stick out some.
 
I pulled a wheel just to see what sort of project this will become next w/e and was delighted to see Toyota has a cavity that will allow the stud without hacking it off...I only pulled the front and those studs are 1.125" anyway but even if the rear wheel lugs are longer they should nest right in the cavity. good news.

didn't think about the antiseize..I'll take your advice, thx.
