Pure One.

Lower price, good performance. I'm also a big fan of the nonslip coating.

Perhaps this thread would be best suited for the oil filter section.

Im not picky. If I feel cheap its motor craft, if not its bosch premium, if money is burning a hole in my pocket its bosch distance+ or fram ultra

Fram ultra, napa platinum, and royal purple trump the distance plus. Synthetic media with screen backer
Dont know about the purolator synthetic yet....

Whatever high quality filter is on sale, personally. Using royal purple currently (from last year's Pep Boys deal), bought some nice Mobil filters on Amazon to have a bit of stock.

Where do you guys typically find the best prices for your filters? (not to threadjack)

AAP online sales with codes and Napa online.

The wire backed filters are for extended drains.

I have all 3 you mentioned but Bosch D+ is the best bang for the buck for an average OCI. IMO of course.

I like the distance plus too. But its an extended drain filter as well. And it isn't the filter that the fram ultra is. Btw where I live a fram ultra is about $9 and the distance plus is $13. So I made the switch to ultra. Either will do a very long oci but the ultra is pure synthetic, vs the synthetic blend of a Bosch distance plus. This means better flow and more capacity. I can't comment on micron ratings but I "think" they are close.

Heres a link to a distance plus cut open. Very high quality!

Is there any cutaways of the fram ultra i havent seen any yet? I believe the purolator synthetic is the same as the bosh D+ i may be wrong.

I use pure ones because even with full syn i only do a 5K oci

Any wire backed filter for $9.99 or less is well worth it I say. I cut a Bosch D+ filter open after 5K and it was in great condition I could of gone to 10K but I don't think the oil would have made it. I may go buy a Purolator Synthetic and cut it open.

Id like to see that

Yeah look through the filter section. They have a couple cut open

Just bought 12 Fram XG's for the Corolla and Civic. Bought because of syn media, wire backing, and the nonslip coating on the end. Plus, disections always show it to hold up quite well. Have some Pureone's to use first though.

Best deal I found was $6.99/each shipped on ebay when you buy a 6-pack.
