I already have the brush-on anti-seize. Just wondering what aerosols are good. Mainly for spraying the part of the hubs where the rotors mount or and wheels mount.
Only one I've used is permatex and it's good but I haven't used something else only because It's what I can get it locally and I usually use the can instead.
For hubs, I wire brush or roloc-scrub them clean, then hit them with S100 Corrosion Protectant or Boeshield aerosol. Too much surface area for traditional anit-seize and NOT to get it all over everything.
I use traditional Permatex and apply it with a brush for the application you stated.
In other areas where I am installing anything with a machine thread I will spray a shot of Fluid film on the threads. This helps to prevent the "Michigan loctite" that is so prevalent around here
I would stick with the brush on - for hubs, you can’t afford even a tiny bit of overspray/contamination of the rotor surface that is likely with an aerosol.
Alternatively, you could use a zinc primer. Widely available. Lowe’s, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, etc.
Basically a spray on zinc that will stop rust and prevent wheels from sticking to your hubs.
