What's your +1 or +2 Quart

So...... many folks like me have vehicles that take 6 or 7 qts.
We all buy 5 qt jugs and then need 1 or 2 extra Qts to make the fill.
I like to use synthetic but buying it in single Qts doesn't always work out.
So what is your "go to" extra qt or two to add to the 5 Qt jug of synthetic? I usually have some Qts of Havoline or TropArtic I picked
up on a good sale to add to the synthetic for just such an occasion.

+1 as I buy an extra 1 or 2 5Q jugs.. I would never buy a 1Q anymore.

Now I have a stash so I don't have that problem anymore but when I didn't have a stash I would buy 4 jugs and do oil changes on 3 vehicles.

Since I finally have car that can utilize an entire 5L jug, I just use the entire jug, no leftover.... I love it.

When I used to have leftover, I would just use whatever was leftover from the previous 4 fills to make one frankenbrew oil change.

The jeep takes about 6.5 quarts with filter change. It gets the 5 quart jug and then it gets whatever may have been leftover from other oil changes. It is not picky about oil so it gets some synthetic, some HDEO, some dino, whatever, it does not seem to care. My other vehicle take less than 5 quarts so they provide the other oil for the jeep.

A couple of things I've done:
* Buy in 20 litre pails...there's only ever one short/very short OCI at the end.
* Buy 5L containers on special, similar to the drum
* Decide on a blend that you want to achieve and buy a 5L based on the blend...that you wouldn't mind having lying around to blend in something else.

I only buy 5 qt jugs even though my 2 cars take 6 qts.. I never mix, to many unknowns.

If I'm using full synthetic it'll be another quart of the same thing. Dino I am more likely to throw whatever is around in there if I don't have another quart of the same, but I often do.

My favorite "whatever" top off oil is Delo LE 15w40. Cheap, a little thicker and loaded with additives. I always seem to have some of that floating around.

I agree with that philosophy, one of my older ideas was to use SAE30 (SL/CF), or 15w40, for muh the same reasons.

If I can find a good score I will purchase individual quarts and stock up.

If I am not able to my wife's Focus will get a 5qt jug and I will leave the other .5 of a quart in the jug for the next oil change.

For my F150 that takes 7 quarts I buy a 5qt jug and then 2 individual quarts. But I like to avoid this by stocking up for 2 years of OCI's 48 quarts when I find a score.

I buy an OCI special at an auto store and get 5 individual quarts and then go to walmart and use the 5qt jugs. This lasts me quite a while as I don't have to spend an arm and a leg for that extra quart or two.

I use the Mobil Super 5w30 in my stash for top offs and as the 6th quart for the 4.6's oc.

The Motorcraft 5W50 is only offered in 1qt bottles, so I just pick up 8 for a change on the '14. Before the 95 was put down for a rebuild the 5qt sump was nice and I just got the 5qt bottles of whatever. It will be going back together with a larger oil pan, so I will just have single quart bottles of the 5qt jug.

OK, so if you have two 5 quart jugs, what do you use to measure out the other single quart ?
