What's up with Sam's Club?

The nearest Sam's Club (120 miles away) seems to offer very little in the way of automotive products anymore. No fuel additives, only one or two brands of oil. Very little else. Was it just not a profitable field for them?

A lot of stores are getting like that now. Target use to have a pretty good automotive fluids section. I'm surprised Walmart still has a pretty good selection. My quess is the average person doesn't buy much fluids or do much auto maintenance anymore.

wal mart is smart they know when you go into the store only for oil you wind up buying other things and if your wife is with you $223.00 worth of other things

Probably not profitable enough anymore. Hard to compete with Pep Girls and the like.

Costco never had a selection, it was a couple of grades of Mobil 1 and one other. BJs is only Shell, conventional and synthetic in two grades and few other car products.

I don't think they ever had the selection of a Wal_Mart. Even Advance Auto does not have all brands and weights.

Sams is hit or miss in my experience.

The only thing auto I get there are the tires, batteries and wipers. You can get better deals on oil at Walmart.

Sams has a case of API SN "Certified" oil for $20 and some change.

They also have 2 5 quart jug packs of Castrol for around $25.

Their meat department is better than any grocery store I have seen, and we stock up on paper products.

Some of the stuff is overpriced, but I get my money's worth with them.
