What's the "oil to beat" per UOA's?

The lubricant that is used in a engine that gets periodic Auto-Rx cleaning and constant LC use. With FP in the fuel.

I am not kidding.

GC 0w30 is probably the most consistent performer we have on here. I know that for me it has always managed to show better UOAs than any other oil in the same engine.

terry, that is a very specific generic answer.

Appropriate/consistent LC use may be more accurate. Really a low cost way to modify your lube over the course of a drain.

LC properly used initially and then at intervals and dosages that unload the host oil oxidatively, lowering insolubles levels, and for the lube formulas that are a bit weak in wear and friction modification to boost those a bit.

( Thanks lewk!)

I see hundreds of different oils in as many different engines, trans, Grbox's, diffy's ,thus the comment.

I thought that when I first tested the LC product we would fine problems using it as it is strong. I have not. It has shown in testing to be as safe as motor oil just lots more oxidatively stable. Major formulators would do well to buy this chemistry up and hide it. When you can allow a basic SM oil to go 10,000 miles safely it really challenges the high end syn guys market position.

W8inDE, affirmative FP60 and soon to be released FP3000.

EPA/ASTM/SWRI emissions and MPG testing ongoing in HDD class 8 trucks with FP3000, really "cool" data being collected. Yes I am jazzed..... I love this job...only thing better would be at Daytona racing this weekend.

I miss racing professionally.

Synthetic -- German Castrol
Syn-Blend -- Schaefers
Conv-Dino -- Havoline

Just my opinion based on most-any vehicle.... but no oil is guaranteed to finish first in every engine ever made. The best way to decide what's best for your engine is thru trial & error/UOAs.

what if you exclude the auto rx and just use the LC and FP, then what? not to omit the "shock" dosage of course!

No true answer since some brand of engines show better wear than others on the same oils. A Toyota may show a better uoa on cheap dino than a GM engine might on a synthetic.

Is the LC compatible with Motul 8100 E-tech, being that it's ester based?

Not to put words in Terry's mouth, but I recall asking a similar question and he answered that it's compatible with all the oils on the market. Hopefully he'll reaffirm this for you.

Yee-Hah...6 channels of in-car camera coverage for the Daytona 500 Sunday! Next best thing to being there!

Terry,

Hope that "inexplicable" 3% MPG increase in diesels with FP you mentioned some months back is holding up under the new data.
I know you can't spill the beans, but I would *kill* to have good raw data on LC and FP performance. I really love these products. Can't wait for the results from my upcoming UOA --- 10,000 miles on Exxon 5W20 with LC.

All motul formulas work well with LC. 427Z06 is correct as usual.

LC cannot clean as deeply as Auto-RX.

TomJones76, You'll have raw data if I have my way ( I am only a humble hired man though). Bench/lab tests, dynoed engine test stand runs AND ongoing actual OTR in-REAL Class 8 trucks with EPA accepted controlled testing. LCD inc. is doing it as right as they can afford and I applaud them.

Whether MPG gains are consistent with our in-house work or computations from the formulating chemist, this grueling tightly controlled testing result remains to be seen and released.

In-house testing shows BOTH diesel and gasoline improvements. Its been exciting to say the least for the small company.

Formulating a chemistry that is affordable and acceptable to regulators is very challenging.

When ultra low sulfur diesel requirements is in force (
The product should speak for itself when we are finished.

Pabs, The Amsoil that I am amazed at is XL7500 5w20, a great oil from reports we see!

The top 2 overall IMO are German Castrol and M1 SUV.

Amsoil XL 5w-20 is excellent also.

Many of the 5w-20's do well.
