What's the difference

I'm sure this is probably been covered, but I can't seem to find it. What is the difference between Valvoline synpower with Max life and Valvoline synpower. I know maxLife has a seal conditioner, but beyond that what else?

that's the only difference. It's a full synthetic version of Maxlife

So it's just the seal conditioner, why do people seem to hold it and higher regard than the standard synpower?

This is in terms of an older car with over 75k miles or so.

Wrong. If vehicle has no consumption problems why add seal swellers to the mix? Keep doing what has been working! Cars that are regularly maintained do great without all that stuff. Quality syn oil unless a leak develops/starts burning significant amounts.

I don't know. I called the hotline once and had a question I think about DuraBlend and the rep seemed to be pushing the MaxLife quite strongly. He seemed to reiterate it was 'better' - whatever that means.

I would try to stay away from added ingredients you do not need. Just because they are free or extra doesn't mean you need them. And the saying, "it couldn't hurt" isn't always necessarily true.
