What's the best ( low flow / micron ) replacement filter for this ?

The cross-reference chart I looked at says a Fram PH8170 is a compatible filter.

30 years ago I worked at a John Deere dealership parts counter. I still remember the filter part number "AM107423" because we sold them by the hundreds. Back then it was identical to a Fram filter for a v6 Camry. The JD filter cost about 3x as much as the Fram from Wal-Mart.

...and the last AM107423 that I bought sure looked like a Fram to me, by the base plate.
