What everybody's thoughts on the best low cost oil filter? Not for any particular application but in general. Supertech, Proline, Drive works, Proselect. I sure there's more just can't think of them right now. From my research I'm starting to think Proline which is a rebadged Purolater might be the best. What do you think?

If the proline (or another) actually is a relabeled wix or purolator, I'd say that. Confirmation would be tough though... Is the media, gasket spec, etc actually the same?

I'd probably go and buy a real purolator or napa wix and be done.

That. Purolators are only $3 and change at AAP.

Proline. Just check the size of the filter because Proline will cut the length of the filter compared to Purolator to make up for the lower cost. My Honda Accord is the same size, but my wife's CRV they really shrunk the filter and I had to pay extra for the Purolator with he same #.

I regularly use Napa's Proselect or a Purolator Premium Plus. Works for me.

Preferred the Advance Auto private label Purolators (AAxxxx), but they are no longer available.

I tend to steer clear of the e-cores, so that rules out Supertech/STP/ACDelco (in the sizes I use at least).

How does everyone feel about the Black Walmart Supertech filters? And if they are bad, how bad are they?

They are sold on shelf next to two flavors of FRAM and ACDelco. I always liked the white can Purolator and PureOne filters.

Go to Advance or Autozone and you can choose Mobil 1 Bosch STP..

These really vary by the application.

The Supertechs for my apps are not ecore and they are a decent filter. They are not as good as a Wix/Napa which are not as good as a Purolator.

In my apps a Purolator Classic/Quaker State is the best for under three bucks IMO. The Proline (I hope this is the behind the counter filter at Advance, I don't remember the brand) is still made by purolator but a half inch shorter than a Classic/QS rebrand.

In my application, I can get OEM filters for around $4 on Ebay if I shop selectively. So that's what I do.

I find the champ non ecore to be better than purolator AFA leaks go (IDK about beta). Had many a leaky Purolator at Can-to-base over the years. Just a weep but still disturbing.

May as well go Supertech since Walmart usually has the best oil prices anyhow - one stop shopping.

Yes the Proline filters are a little smaller. I don't consider it an issue with my Application. I can always substitute the 30001 for my 14670 if need be.

I have a commercial acct @ PB and 1 filter is $1.97 and if I buy a case they are $1.40ish each.
